About this program
Led by UNSW academics and alumni who are experts in their field, this year’s Learn to Lead program will focus on leadership for a better world. The program will inspire leaders to come to grips with the challenges that our changing world presents and look at what opportunities there are to improve the overall balance between human and planetary well-being. The course will develop solutions and skills to help UNSW alumni become better leaders for tomorrow’s world. Learn to Lead is presented by UNSW Alumni Experience in collaboration with AGSM @ UNSW Business School.
Dates: Monday 29 August - Sunday 11 September 2022
Commitment: 6 - 10 hours over two weeks

Delivery: Online platform, featuring a combination of webinars, lectures, interactive Q&A sessions and self-paced learning

Course lead: Professor Ben Newell
Ben Newell is Professor of Cognitive Psychology and Deputy Head of the School of Psychology at UNSW Sydney. His research focuses on the cognitive processes underlying judgment, choice and decision-making and the application of this knowledge to environmental, medical, financial and forensic contexts. Ben has worked with industry and government partners on projects including climate change communication, retirement wealth-planning and child-protection. Ben is a member of the Academic Advisory Panel of the Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government.Learn more

Learn to Lead is designed exclusively for graduates of UNSW.
- I'm not available at the time of the live course components (introductory panel and live Q&A sessions), will there be a recording I can watch at a later date?
Yes, all live sessions will be recorded and available to course registrants to watch at their leisure.
- I've registered for the course, but I haven't received any further information.
You should receive a confirmation email shortly after registering with your access details for the online learning platform. You will also receive an email on the morning of Monday 29 August, letting you know the program is open. Please get in touch with us if you do not receive these emails. Information on support available throughout the course will be shared on the learning platform.
- Is the course completely online? Do I need to attend any face to face sessions?
The course is delivered 100% online. There are no face to face components.
- Will I get a certificate if I complete the course?
Alumni who complete the course will receive a certified digital badge, which can be added to a LinkedIn profile or used elsewhere online.
