Wherever life takes you, we want you to feel connected to your alma mater.

As a UNSW graduate, you have access to an outstanding community of over 300,000 alumni across 152 countries through our International Alumni Networks.

You’ll find international alumni networks in Hong Kong, Indonesia, China, New York, Singapore and Malaysia; each organised and managed by volunteers like Christopher (MBA ’15), committee member of the Malaysia Alumni Network.

“I originally joined the Network to stay connected to other Malaysian alumni who had passed through the University and shared a similar journey to me.

“Malaysian graduates have walked the corridors of UNSW since the 1950s, so I felt a desire to improve the points of access and overall support for my fellow UNSW alumni.

“Being a part of this network has widened my professional network tremendously, and connected me with industry professionals across Malaysia and even wider Asia.”

Max (MUDD ’12), a member of New York’s Alumni Network, echoes Christopher, in that remaining connected to his fellow alumni has benefited his personal and professional life journey.

“It’s so great to be able to pick up the phone and see what UNSW alumni in my industry are doing. I’ve actually identified potential business opportunities just by staying connected.

“Our gatherings aren’t just for professional purposes; we sometimes get together in a social capacity too. One of my most memorable meetings was in an art gallery in New York City’s Lower East Side. The gallery was filled with Aboriginal artwork, the drinks were flowing and there were plenty of UNSW alumni to network with,” says Max.

Alumni Networks help foster a sense of community and can act as a great support network for international students returning home after their time at UNSW.

“University life doesn’t end when you graduate, you simply embark on a different chapter,” says Shalom (BDes ’18), member of the Hong Kong Alumni Network.

“If your local Alumni Network isn’t ideal for you, don’t be afraid to suggest changes. You’ll be surprised by the support you receive from both the committee members and the University.”

Being part of the UNSW alumni community means access to world-class learning resources and ongoing professional support from the University and your fellow alumni. Find out more about how you can stay connected in our recent article ‘I’m based overseas, what benefits & services can I access?’.
