The law is not an end in itself, but can be used for both good and ill. It can marginalise and harm, as well as lift up those in need and form a society based on values such as fairness, equality and the rule of law.
UNSW Law plays a key role in this process. Widely regarded as one of Australia's top law schools, UNSW Law is committed to the notion that the law must serve the needs of the community. We are making an impact by finding solutions to real-world issues and improving access to justice for some of the world’s most marginalised people. We influence debate, shape policy and drive innovation across a range of pressing social and environmental justice issues.
The Faculty is a hub for thought-leadership, and we have in our midst some of the world’s most highly-regarded and influential minds. Together, we have made ground-breaking advancements towards constitutional reform to ensure First Nations Australians will have a strong voice in policy and laws that affect them. We have influenced new policy frameworks and operational responses for people displaced by disaster and climate change. And we have made progress towards gender equality. Yet, there is still so much more we need to do.
Philanthropy is a powerful vehicle for change. UNSW Law has a range of priority initiatives requiring philanthropic investment. With your support, we can make headway towards a fairer, more just society.
