UNSW graduates maintain top position in median salary and overall satisfaction

UNSW graduates continue to lead the Group of Eight (Go8) in median salary for both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

These results are from the 2022 Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS), which is conducted four months after graduation followed by the Graduate Outcomes Survey Longitudinal (GOS-L), which is completed three years after they leave university.  

2022 Undergraduate leaver highlights 

  • UNSW remains on top of Go8 for median salary four to six months after graduation for the 7th consecutive year ($70k compared to $68k national and $67k Go8 average). 

  • UNSW remains on top of the Go8 for the 4th consecutive year for median salary three years after graduation ($88k compared to $80k nationally and $81k across the Go8). 

  • 2nd of the Go8 for full time employment four to six months after graduation (84% compared with 79% nationally and 78% across the Go8). 

 

2022 Postgraduate leaver highlights 

  • UNSW leads the Go8 for full time employment four to six months after graduation (91% compared with 89% nationally and 87% across the Go8). 

  • Top nationally for the 6th consecutive year for median salary four to six months after graduation ($117k compared with $93k nationally and $89k across Go8). 

  • Top nationally for the 4th consecutive year for median salary three years after graduation ($130k compared with the $103k nationally and $105k across Go8). 

These positive results achieved by our alumni community further enhance UNSW’s reputation and demonstrate the continued value of a UNSW degree in industry. 

GOS 2024 collection starts October 24 

The 2024 GOS collection will start on October 24, 2023 and run over three periods: October-November 2023, February 2024, and May 2024. All UNSW graduates who graduated in the previous four months will be invited to participate.

The GOS provides valuable insights into the employment outcomes and career satisfaction of UNSW graduates. This information helps UNSW to improve its programs and services to better support its students and alumni.
